Technical support

If you are having any technical problems, checked the requirements and Tips and FAQs and are still experiencing issues, please contact us and give us as detailed a description as you can.  If possible, include the version of your Webmorizer (select About Webmorizer from the main menu to see what version is installed) and include times/dates if the problem occurred while online - maybe it will show up in our error logs.

Webmorizer Requirements

The Webmorizer client is a browser toolbar. Currently, Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6+ is supported, with Firefox around the corner. The Webmorizer server can be hosted by Webmorizer, or can be licenced for installation onsite. The server runs on all current operating systems and platforms. Design was kept simple and efficient, scalable and extensible, with platform-independent online management and administration interfaces.

Installing Webmorizer

First off, you should establish your Webmorizer account.  Next, download and install the Webmorizer client into your browser.  A full set of instructions can be found on the download page.

If you have problems, check our tips and FAQs then contact us if they persist.

Custom Libraries and Categories
You can access your Library Manager from the search menu or the Main Menu / Options / Libraries and Categories once logged in.  You can create as many Libraries as you like, and have unlimited Categores within each Library.  Notice you can alter the look of a Category, and can nest Libraries within each other.

Choose your search engines
Take some time and select which search engines you want on your list and which you want tracked in your search history.  You can access the Engine Manager through the QuickSearch menu or the Main Menu / Options / Search Engines menu.  Keeping the list reasonable helps shorten the QuickSearch menu and is more efficient.

Custom search engines
Select the Add engine option from the QuickSearch menu and follow the given instructions.  If this automated process fails, or if you think an engine should be included by default, contact support and see about getting the engine added to the default list.  Tip: you can add different instances of the same engine for convenience, for example a Google item and a Google (english only) item that have the language settings already embedded.

Even quicker QuickSearch
Not only can you type your search terms into the toolbar, you can also select text and right-click for a menu option to QuickSearch the selected text instantly.

How do I show Webmorizer in my browser? (Internet Explorer)
After installing Webmorizer, open a new browser and select the View / Toolbars menu item from the IE menu.  Click on the Webmorizer item to put a check mark beside it.  Still no toolbar?  Your browser may be blocking 3rd party toolbars:
  1. Open your Internet Explorer Options dialog (Tools/Internet Options)
  2. Select the Advanced tab
  3. Go to the "Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)" option
  4. Make sure that this option is enabled (checked)
If Webmorizer still does not show up, or you require further assistance, contact us.

How do I move or resize Webmorizer? (Internet Explorer)
Make sure the toolbars are not locked by selecting the View / Toolbars menu item from the IE menu and making sure Lock all Toolbars is NOT checked.  A handler (little texture) will be available on the left-most edge of the toolbar.  Click and drag this handler to move the toolbar around vertically and, if not alone on a line, horizontally.
